Fringed Necklace, Autumn Leaves

A new favorite necklace of mine, for sure.

I think I'll call this a ferned / branched fringe. I've missed having a dark red necklace since I sold "Pomegranate."

I combined bronze, red, and gold delicas to form this fringed necklace. There's a pattern, but you can't readily see it, and I like that even more.

I think I need one more necklace in this fluffy, fringed, V-neck style. And yes, I'm tempted to make a "Summer --" or "Spring --".
A la: Winter Frost.

This is my favorite kind of necklace, and I need more of them, in colors I actually wear.

Blue Lariat

I have more blue than I could ever use, it seems.

I thought a 45" lariat would surely use up what I have left. I have enough blue 'stuff' to make another, thicker, one.

On with the picture show!

My workshop looks a little more professional now. I'm using a painting wheel to store the beads.

You can see all the different materials that when into this one. Spiral rope styled, with lapis, crystal, pearl, coral, and leaf fringes.

And here's the completed product.

I rather liked the idea of a rope lariat, and while I have far more blue to burn, I've grown weary of the color. I'm going to move onto something else.

A picture of it hanging on the bust can be seen on my flickr page.

Beading: My Work Environment

This is an image of the necklace I'm currently beading:

The pad I'm working on is a square I cut from a yoga mat covered in the cotton of an old t-shirt. Taped in the back with clear packing tape.

The little 'bead boxes' are made from index cards, folded into box tops. (How to fold a paper box.)

The writing on the side is my pattern. The numbers correspond to the layout of the beads on the pad. (The top left and top right beads are the same color, but separated for sanity.)

After the initial design, it's a 'bead by numbers' game. Follow the pattern until its conclusion.

A new necklace

I have a ball coming up this Saturday, and my dress needed a necklace.

Hey! I make necklaces. ^_^

I pulled out all of my beading material and got to it. I didn't forget a thing. In a couple days, the necklace was designed and created. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

I present: Falcon

I have a feeling it's going to be a beadweaving kind of year.
